PC freezing then not booting... what now?

All of a sudden my PC started acting up, did'nt install any hardware/software so i'm not sure why this is happening.
PC will be running fine and just freeze. I have to manualy hit the restart button, the PC just sits there, dosent reboot, nothing on the screen, no BIOS beep.
What would the best guess be? I was thinking a Power supply problem or a RAM problem? (i have 3 sticks of 1g RAM i can swap around)

I couldn't tell from your question if this is a recurring problem or if the PC has failed and will not boot at all.
The bios should beep with a ram problem. You would get more than one beep, letting you know there is a problem. You could try one stick at a time but I doubt it's the problem. The RAM is checked during POST and you are not even getting that far.
Does the power supply fan turn on? Does the CPU cooler fan turn on? If neither does when you press the power on button then I'd guess it's the PSU or possibly a dead motherboard. If the PC is freezing, and not giving you BSOD, then that tells me it's more of a CPU problem. Especially if you can get it to start after it cools down. Can you?

sorry, yes it's a reoccuring problem. it can run fine all day long, the next day i try turning it on, the lights and fans all turn on but it dosent even goto the bios screen and no beep. turn it off, then on then off then on and bam it starts and goes through bios and starts windows normally. will run fine then freeze up and start all over again... sometimes when i get it running again it will work fine the rest of the day.
if it was the cpu or mobo, would'nt it do it every single time I boot it up?

I had a mboard that did similar things, was a capacitor gone on the board. Have a look at all the capacitors and see if any of the tops are domed, they should be flat (thanks to ddp for teaching be bout that). Worth a try.

looked, all cap's are fine.
moved the RAM around, still acting up.

Update: this morning I try turning it on, and nothing... everything turns on and runs but no display, i hit reset and I get a 3 Beep BIOS code (First 64 K memory failure).
So, i take all 3 RAM out and install 1 (yes in the correct slot)... it gives me the 3 beeps again, remove and install the 2nd RAM, same thing, install the 3rd, again the same thing.
So now all i'm getting is "First 64 K memory failure" problems.
What now?

Have you tried putting each individual stick of ram in on its own in each available slot? ie take stick 1 and put it in slot 1, see if you still get the beeps, turn off pc, put the same stick (stick 1) into slot 2, check again and then in slot 3. Do the same for both the other sticks too.
If you are still getting beeps with all sticks in all available slots then I think you motherboard is probably at fault. While you are checking the ram again take out the power from your psu to your hard disk and your cd drives and any other devices that may be present, so you only have the main power from your psu to your mboard and the extra power connector to your processor (if your cpu and mboard require this, dont worry if you dont have that).
It would be useful if you could test your cpu and ram in another pc, can you bring them to any friends or something to do so? If you find that they work then you know its definitely the mboard. Also, before you do the ram test again you should reseat your cpu (disconnect all power first remember including the extra power from psu to cpu in the mboard), if you have fresh thermal paste to put on do so if not just leave the old one on, its ok, but get some new paste and replace it sometime quite soon.
Do you still get the beeps? Are you sure there are no domed capacitors on your mboard? Even if not I think your motherboard is broken.
Btw, what board and cpu do you have?
