I have a v14 slimline ps2. I just did the tape and tissue mod after i found the site listed at the end of this post. The ps2 runs discs with the lid open, which means the mod was successful. I have a spindle of DVD+R and am getting a spindle of CD-R. If I make a backup of a dvd game (such as CDS) can i burn it to a dvd+r using dvd decrypter (iso read and write). Will the ps2 read the dvd+r because most sites tell me to burn to dvd-r. Can i burn it to a cd-r? What if i backup a cd game?

Sorry for too many questions.
Me noob.

I'm not the total expert, but I know enough.

Using DVD decrypter, you can use DVD+R and back them up using booktype DVD-ROM. Still I think it's hit or miss, and still depends on what brand you are using. I have backed-up to DVD+r, but I heard that only slimPS2 can read DVD+r. I have DBZ sparking Meteor, and Psychic Force Complete backed up to DVD+r...but most of the other games faied the test, so I stick to DVD-R.

I'd say get DVD-R and stick with that. As for making a DVD-ROM game fit on a CD-R, you need to find a tutorial on that, and it's really not worth the hassle..but that's always up to the end user.

good to go!!

yeah, it's the AR Max method for the slimPS2 becuase you can't run the memory card exploit like you can on a fat PS2. It's a lengthy kinda backwards way of running an exploit.

You need an older version of AR Max..like 3.36 or older, and your PS2 must be able to access the USB port. There is a detailed thread on this, and it's about 6 months old here.

The way it is explained here is better.

good to go!!
