hi i recently posted a thread in which everyone was super helpful on how and why to bookmark dvd+r media. my next question is in regards to DVD+R DL media. i have been burning movies onto verbatim DBD+R DL media using nero 6.3.1.12 and my sony DVD RW DRU-710A burner and have never set any bookmarking. i use the dvd-video option with nero burning rom and add the files to the TS-VIDEO folder and seems to work fine in my standalone dvd player. my question is should i be bookmarking somewhere in order to avoid compatibility issues that i may have with other players, or is nero already bookmarking to the dvd-rom by default.

Did you try the guides here:

Sorry I use Liteon's bitsetting utility/or DvdInfoPro. I would assume you have to set both single layer and dual layer +R's, and save as default.

Nero CD-DVD Speed bitsetting utility seems to be easier to understand, I would suggest you use that one.

you need to set nero to booktype to DVD-ROM it doesn't do it by default, BTW is booktyping NOT bookmarking lol. you can set it in nero express by chicking the options tab. and yes i would set it to booktype in case down the road you have a dvd player that needs it
