I have been trying to figure out how to get custom ring tones on my phone; a Telus LG 8600 ( Chocolate Flip ). This is what i know (or think i know,) so far:

- Cut out the part you want in a song in a music editor and save it. (i used wavepad)

- Then either:
*e-mail this section of the song to your phone using (your 10 digit number here)@msg.telus.com from your e-mail account (mine is @hotmail.com) -> this is where i get stuck, when i receive the text message on my phone it will be spread out over 2 messages. The first will have at the top: <<FILE>> then a few lines worth of '_ _ _' leading from the the top, to the bottom where there will be an advertisement, the advertisement is continued in the 2nd message. The second message has nothing else in it. I tried twice and both times the size of the file i sent was 232kb, i sent it once as an mp3 and then as a wav.

* as far as i know the other way is via usb and all you have to do is edit the song, then do something with bitpim, then put it into the proper folder on your phones memory. --> i dont have the proper usb capable but wuold be willing to get it)

If you have any idea about what i have to do or if you know a different way please let me know. Thank you. I will repay you anyway i can...although i am probably not as smart as you and would not be able to help you at all...
