Here's a PC I'm evaluating for repair. It's a 4 year old Dell Demension.
Just thought I'd post a couple of pictures and get any comments. The 12V connector next to the cpu got a bit warmer than normal, lol.












The power supply still has the correct 12V, 5V, 3.3V etc. Something on the mobo appears to have shorted. Or???
I can only guess that it wasn't good for other surviving components.

No bios beep, The optical drives are not working with the correct voltages at the power pins. Hard drive spins, no video output from the graphics card, no cpu fan voltage (Probably because the power for the fan comes from that connector).

oof. the 12v rail reminds me of the xbox360 nyko intercooler problem. hopefully some parts can still be used.

does the onboard vga still work?
