I bought a 500gb usb drive and tried til wits end to make it work. I found through research that it is limited on game compatability. i would recommend not wasting time and money on this exploit. The older "fat" ps2 had a higher success rate with the network adapter/hd connection. I diverted back to SM and burning. I did have a few games work but the USB bandwith was just as slow as a DVD/CD so IMOA it is pointless.
I just got the USB extreme disk. I have a 500gb maxtor drive. I loaded about 10 games and only about 5 or 6 worked. Still trying to figure out why they didn't work...still researching. I hope I can load them all correctly or else I will try a different program.
Couldn't work - Guitar Hero,NBA2k7,MLB2k7
WOrked-Lego Star Wars, ATV Offroad2 and others
There is a list of games somewhere that I came across that shows the compatible games with the USB extreme and it wasn't very impressive, don't really think it is worth the effort with USB. Transfer rate is just too slow, load times suck.

You need to do a DNAS or IOPROP image swap with a few of the games to get them to work, and it may or may not always work.
