Maybe my playstation2 is to "old school" to play burned dvd video games. I've tried using dvd+r and dvd-r, however each time I still receive the "Disk Read Error" on the ps2.
I've followed all of the step by step guides on how to burn .iso files onto the dvd and nothing is working. I'm using dvd decrypter and swap magic.
Is it possible that the ps2 is too old to recognize and play the burned dvd's?? However I have read that others have had luck with version 1 ps2's.
Is there anyway to upgrade or update the ps2 to get it to play the burned dvd's?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

You have to use HIGH quality -r discs (it wont play +r discs at all).
V9 PS2, flip top, SMD, DVDLoader
Pioneer 107, ritek g05

i didn't realize that the swap magic could not be copied/burned from an iso download.
so i just purchased the actual cd...it should arrive in the next few days, hopefully this fix's the problem.

Anything you burn a copy of, whether you downloaded it or copied it yourself is a BACKUP DISC. And if your PS2 could play backup discs, there wouldn't be a lot of point in modding or buying swap magic for that matter.
Keep in mind you will need to utilize some method to open the tray--either a slide tool or a flip-top.

Hello, my friend gave me a folder and it had the following kind of files that he said is a PS2 game:
kal-ddrm.001 thru kal-ddrm.36 and a different file: kal-ddrm.sfv
how do I burn this type of files to DVD? Do I need a special type of program? I am not sure what this is or what to do with it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Happy New Year,

Yes, you need winrar. Install it, then right click the first file and click 'extract file'. Choose where you want the file to go.
You will then have an image file of a PS2 game that you can burn with numerous programs such as imgburn.
Keep in mind that it won't work unless you have modded your PS2 or you have swap magic.

So I need to do this with each file in the folder that he gave me. There are over 36 files for this one game. Then once every file was extracted then I can do the rest as you mentioned with the imgburn or needing to use swap magic?
Thanks!

No once you click extract on the first file, all of the files will unrar together, you won't have to do them one by one.

Sly; Sorry about that. I was reading this thread and had a little to do with it so I went with it. The problem I am having is that the folder is not a disc image it is individual files. Not sure what to do to make it a PS2 game DVD. They look like this: kal-ddrm.001 and so on until the last file is kal-ddrm.036 and kal-ddrm.sfv I am not sure what these individual files are.
Thanks!
