I have my satellite company coming on wed to install my hd receiver, my tv only has 1 hdmi input and 1 component video input, they say that the quality of the signal will be the same either way. is that true? should i have them install my satellite using the hdmi input, or the component video input?. Should i use the hdmi for the hd dvd player i'm planing on buying?

it depend s what resolution your tv is .. 1080 , i would go with the hdmi

any lower hdmi is fine but my choice would be the component .

Honestly, I would go with the HDMI connection.

Any new piece of equipment you buy these days always recommend using an HDMI connection for the best picture quality possible.

Leave the Component connection for other "older" equipment that does not come equipped with an HDMI-OUT port.

hey..this is the same question i was having..I have one more question though..does the cable box in this link support hdmi?..like do i need an hdmi to hdmi or hdmi to dvi cable?
