Need help turning a monitor into a TV

I'm trying to turn a computer monitor into a regular tv to watch cable. I've got a digital cable box, so I've got the tuner covered. My problem is making the box and the monitor connect.

The monitor has inputs: DVI and RGB (looks like a VGA input)
The cable box has outputs: COAX, Composite RCA, and something labeled DATA (looks like VGA but only with two rows of pins).

Is there any combination of adapters, short of getting an expensive receiver, that can allow me to connect to two?
