hi

my hard drive is currently partitioned 3 ways & i want to merge into one. I have removed all data on 2 which leaves the operating system etc on 1st partition. if i delete other 2 using partition amgic am i 100% safe that i wont lose data on drive C ?

you won't loose your c: drive. Each partition is seperate and deleting them won't affect any of the other partitions. The only way you can affect c: partition is if you try to merge it with the other partitions.

As long as you don't touch your c: partition you will be ok.

If you wanted to merge all your partitions it would be best to format and Merge them then.

The best operating system i have found to do this with is XP pro.
If you have it on disk.

Format your machine, and during your setup it will ask you wich partion to install to.

Look through the instuctions and it should say, Delete partions.

Delete all of them and you should be left with one.

Then just install your clean version of windows.

And away you go.

However, if you have no experience in this area ask someone who does to help so if you make a mistake, they may be able to reverse what you have done.

Glad to see you are using Partition Magic. It's great.
You have deleted the unwanted partitions, now, in PM, expand the c: drive to the max, and apply. I have done this many times with no data loss. I never hurts to save critical data to a safe place.
