I have problem's in playing games in my laptop like sims2, battle for middle earth. the problem is while I for a short time the game
gets laggy.

Intel(R) Pentium(R)M
processor 1400MHz
587 MHz,256 MB of RAM
(i dont know much about computers so i just copied this from the system in the control panel)

my video card is an MOBILITY RADEON 9000

my laptop's has only 30GB space
and it is pentium 4

how can i speed up my gaming in my laptop

get more ram because you have a total of 256megs but lost part of that to the radeon videocard as they share ram. try to max out the amount of ram you can get installed.

xp is horrible on 256mb of ram. Getting more will be a huge performance boost.
You say its getting laggy after playing for a short time, Does it feel hot? I can play cod 4 on mine for about 40 minutes, then it starts to get choppy, I feel the bottom of the thing and its burning up.

The sims 2 requires a half-decent graphics card, which your laptop hasn't got. There's no way to rectify that without buying a new laptop. However, you should see a big performance boost buy buying more RAM. An extra 512MB (to make 768MB) Should do it, and will be very cheap to buy.

While I do agree sammorris, I have a sims2 pack here (not mine lol) and he meets all the stated system requirements.
CPU- 800MHz or faster
RAM- 256MB or more
VIDEO- must be dx9.0 compatible and have 32MB or more memory.

kiwi, stigrovi doesn't meet the specs as his total ram is 256megs minus what the onboard video card shares of that total. that is why i said max out the installation of ram.

Does the 9000 share memory? I was under the impression it was a dedicated graphics card. The PCI version certainly was.

Lol I no! I was just saying, I don't think the desktop version of the card did, so I wouldn't think the laptop version would either.

Hmm, a 9000. Would it be? I think my housemate's laptop has a 9000, I'll try and find out.
update: Ok fair enough, not only does it share memory, it shares 128 rather than the usual 64. ouch.
