undubbed TOL not working on swap magic?

i got tales of legendia burnt to a DVD-R disc however whenever i try to start it up with swap magic, it wouldnt work , it says "not a valid ps2 disc" , ive tried 2 other brands of DVD-R and they would not work. is there a chance this would work on a DVD+R(KODAK)?

thanks in advance to anyone who can help

p.s. the DVD-R's that i tried were mirror platnium(which TOTA works fine on), RiDisc (sp?) and a random one without any name on (a blank white disc)
