Ever since I had to put a new hard drive in my PC, I get an error like this EVERY time I attempt to burn a DVD, this usually occurs during the decoding piece, DVD Shrink will state the data is on my PC if I continue, but I cannot burn to DVD:

A serial from a free trial would not help a pirate much I think, but you need not post it in the future.
Also, It seemes that you installed your version of Nero 8 over Nero 6 without a proper clean-up first. You should use Nero Clean Tool from Nero's website and remove all Nero's entries before installing a new version. Instead of Nero, ImgBurn will do the job for you.
