Ive recently found about Verbatim changing its manufacturing of Double layer DVD'S to India(although it may be a long ago), I started investigating about differences in quality about the media MIS and MII I found many opinions, lamentably none agreed on the fact that Double layer MII where as good as those MIS, some said they gave alot of coasters others that they where ok but not as good as MIS etc..

So I decided to investigate myself, I bought a pack of 20 Verbs DVD+R DL 2.4X through the net and they where MII :(. But because I only wanted to stick with the best I found out that the 8X DVD+R DL of this same brand where made in Singapore, so I again bought a 20 pack. I have to clarify I did this test using a Brand new LITEON DH-20A3H burner, using Nero 7.

I tried using both kind of discs (MII and MIS) to see its results and here they are:

DVD+R DL 8X Made in Singapore (burned at 4x):

Media Code: MKM003

Sorry for those who do not understand spanish: Promedio=Average Maximo=Maximum

DVD+R DL 2.4X Made in India (Burned at 2.4x):

As you see quality differences are noticeable, although both are readable the MII has much more errors, and for those who think this was just pure bad luck, I again burned a MII DL and got a complete coaster with tons of errors, and when I tried burning MIS I got a similar result with little errors as the one I posted.

I hope this informations helps, and if you think you need more information Ill gladly post it, I have burned other of this DL dics in other burners with similar results, also Ive burned the old 2.4X MIS and got similar results as those with 8X capability but if you want to check the test I can post them. Any other info you think necessary just ask. I hope this information was helpfull and that assures the fact that MII DL are really not worth it.

Edit: Was correcting some problem with pictures not showing.
