nero digital on vista media center

I spend few hours to be able to play nero digital (mp4) file on WMP11 and media center (OS=vista home premium).
When I rename the extension into avi, vista media center play it correctly. Graphedit (rename es recode.exe) gives the filter asscoiated -nero splitter, nero decoder.. and can play the movie. So filter are correctly installed ???

When I use the name with *.mp4, graphedit cannot decode it, vista media center list the file but impossible to play (and does not display the image). I just found on ethernet some patch for .mp4 in three places, but no one works. Any idea why the same file name as *avi does not work rename as *.mp4 ?
