Verizon EnV front display

Hello, I recently purchased a Verizon Wireless EnV, and for the most part it's been a pretty good phone.
My problem is this:
The front display on my phone turns off after approximately 25 seconds of inactivity. I'd like to set the display to stay on displaying the time, date, and battery life, like most other phones do by default. It's kind of an inconvenience to search for the "Ok" button while its partly or mostly in its case, and I don't want to have to open it to activate the front display. I've searched through the Phone and Display settings as well as the phone manual but can't find anything that helps. If anyone has an answer it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
