Mode Not Supported with a DVR from the cable company?

I have a Samsung 43 inch, DLP, HDTV projection TV. Last night the cable company installed a DVR and new cable. They hooked it up to INPUT: Component 2. When watching HDTV programming, it worked fine. However, if you were to switch to a non-HDTV channel, it worked for about 1 or 2 seconds and then the tv would display "mode not supported". I then would have to switch to the "anntenae" input which would show ALL the channels, but the HD channels were not truly in HD???

Anyone know what this is? Is there a setting on the TV that needs to be changed?
