I've been having problems with the blue screen of death. I have run memory diagnostics and all passed. I have reloaded drivers for vid card (Nvidia G-force Go 6800 Ultra), Swapped Memory chips to just 1 (Tried it w/all 3) and restarted, Called tech support numerous times (No help there) and can't figure out why I get the blue screen 80% of the time I start up. Below Is a log from CPU-z. I was wondering if the 200mhz frequency on the 256mb chip might be causing the blue screen. Though I did get the blue insult no matter what chip I had in. Any help I a appreciated.

Hmmmm...... What about the 200mhz? Got 4 slots 2 w/1gig @ 266mhz and 1 w/256mb @ 200mhz. Is the 4200 bad for the computer? I had it installed for about a year and a half b4 the problems started.If it is and I need new stuff, I would like to max out the 4 gigs this machine is capable of. I just read you should match your RAM to your FSB which is 800mhz on this machine. Is that true? Ok I just checked @ Alienware's site and it did come with 4200 installed (The 256mb). And, CPU-z shows it's only running @200mhz. So, if 4200 runs @ 266mhz, then there may be a problem with that chip.?

will try that. CPU-z also shows the chips as 4300. is there another freeware proggy I can use to check these with?

To test that they work properly, download and burn Memtest86. It runs outside of windows and comprehensively checks your RAM for any problems.

Ok pulling the 256 chip seemed to make it worse. I got a new stop code I haven't seen before. it's a 0x 50 (0xB43464C2) Keep getting a 0x7f code as well. I havent had a chance to download Memtest86 yet. I did do one earlier that I got from microsofts site. Ran through it with the tech. It might be the same one.

Run memtest, it may be that one of your 1GB sticks has gone bad.

O.K. I ran Memtest twice and everything passed twice. I also ran another tester and once again all the memory passed twice. I am pretty sure there's nothing wrong with my memory.

I did do audio but was afraid to do chipset and such as I've never done anything like that before. I am running a Clevo 900t revision A w/an Intel chipset i915p/i915g revision B1 and that's about how far I got to updating. I was afraid and thought to try everything else first. Besides I wouldn't know where to go or how to install,,, Is it firmware?

No, it's simply another driver, just for the motherboard chipset rather than the graphics processor or the main processor.

Ok I went searching for new drivers and couldnt find any. Then I tried through the device manager. It seems we were 2 peas in a pod on this one. Of course our pod could be rotten and I was looking in the wrong place. What do you think I should do next?
