I just finished coverting a .avi movie to DVD using the latest ConvertXToDVD . Half-way through watching the DVD the movie, I found out it was corrupted ( i.e. no sound and heavily pixelated in several segments !!) .
Are there some programs that can detect corrupted .avi movies and DVD movies without having to check these movies in real-time inspection ?
As for the burned DVD...depending on the burning software you use, might have an option that will allow to verify the data on your disc after you burn.
After the burn is done, you can also run a quality scan. Nero has the CD-DVD Speed; depending on your drive, there are different applications that will do that. There is a CD/DVD Probe for Lite-on drives I think, thre is also QPxTool.
However, some drives can be excellent burners, but poor scanners, so the results could be misleading.
here you can find info about media and quality scans:
Verifying your DVD isn't going to be much use if your still creating bad/unreadable discs.
It could be a number of a things but most importantly...
What DVD+R drive do you have?
What brand of media are you using?
What settings did you use with ConvertXtoDVD?
What speed did you burn at?
Sound's like a bad/defective burn to me, either that or during encoding ConvertX ran into some errors, etc..
Try using DVD Flick (1.3.0.0).. it's free, it has much the same features as ConvertXtoDVD, and it allows you to manually set your bitrate to squeeze more quality into your discs. If you like Convert X, you'll like DVD Flick.
