Ok I have a 40" Samsung Plasma tv and I dont like it anymore cause its got burned icons in all four corners from playing gears of war. I want to figure out a way to mess up my tv that is covered under my warranty with Circuit City cause the guy that sold it to me said that the plasmas had been fixed of their ghosting problem, thus therefore I purchased a plasma several days later. Now when I went back he no longer works there. So I need help, I know this doesnt sound all to legal, but I paid nearly $500 for a 5 year warranty. The tv is only 2 1/2 months old. Any suggestions?

I was informed that all newer plasma Television were not subject to burn-in.
guess this ws not exactly 100% true.

GOOD LUCK BRO.

it's not legal in any country, you won't get any help.

if there's burn in, just call and complain. it's a malfunction, proclaimed to not happen anymore, and should therefore be covered in the warranty.

You should be able to fix the burn-in.. the same way as with a crt. We used to point a camera at a white card under good light and run the tv with the brightness well up overnight.. cured most of the burn in, but there was often a very faint ghost left even after quite a long time... some could not be fixed (you could see the ghost even with the tv off)

It has been reported to be fixed, and these kinds of burn in will fade over time. It just shows how manufacturers and retailers will lie to sell product.. If you read your warranty and device manual there will probably be an "escape" clause somewhere about burn in from video games.. A friend has a large LG plasma, and there is a section about video games in the manual.. namely that burn in from games is excluded from the waranty because it says not to use them in the manual... Who ever reads the paperwork anyway??

Try setting it on peak white full screen for a few hours, or run a pixel fixer avi.. something like that.. or just ignore it and eventually it will fade . May take years tho..
