Hello , my first post here , hoping some kind soul can help.

I've just bought this tv

http://www.panasonic.co.uk/lcd-tv/tx-26lxd7/index.htm

Although it has composite , component and Svideo input , it has no PC Input , which i believe is also known as VGA.

What i need to know is how much better is it using a TV with PC Input to use the TV as a PC monitor.

Is it easier to set up ? Do you get a better picture ? Do you still have to use clone / twinview ?

When i bought the TV i was told it was the same as the 26LMD70 , but that model has PC Input and an extra HDMI socket.

Theoretically i can exchange the TV i was given for the one with PC Input , but they have none in stock at the moment and have given vague promises that they expect a delivery soon. Is it worth waiting for the one with PC Input ?

A digital connection is ALWAYS the best way to go. The picture will be sharper and colours more vivid etc. I need to know a little more about the type of connection you have before I can give you specific advice. Is it VGA or DVI? Please google these terms to find out which one you have.

I see that model LCD has 1 HDMI input, so either way it is possible to convert VGA or DVI to HDMI. You will need to purchase a cable and/or an adapter.

When you connect your PC this way, the LCD will basically act as a monitor.

Your PC OUTPUT? Or INPUT? VGA should be fine, but you'll want at least a DVI out sometime.
