Could be lot's of things, check this list of known ISP's that port block (there are more that do too) http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Bad_ISPs Does the port check at options>speed guide show it open and get you a green status light? Is utorrent an exception in any Firewall you use? Are you using a port that is over 10,000 and not the default. Uncheck randomize port at options>preferences>connection and UPnP as well. You may need a static ip address, in case your router changed it if you use one, check it at start>run, type in cmd, select ok, type in ipconfig/all and select enter. If it has changed (it will eventually anyway), set it static. No big deal, just pay attention to what is said about the DNS Server and Default Gateway showing the same address: http://www.portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm Enable Protocol Encryption: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/395674 Do a speedtest (utorrent has one or this site is good: http://www.speedtest.net/ ) and set your upload speed at options>speed guide>connection type. utorrent will set it accordingly to kB (kilobytes), most speed tests show in kb (kilobits) 8kb = 1kB. Check it it various times over a week.

Have you run a speed test and used Options/Speed Guide to adjust your uTorrent settings to their optimal.
There is a link to a speed test on the Speed Guide screen.

It is possible that you are just on slow torrents.

You can run a check with the Slackware 10.2 Torrent (dedicated servers).
This is generally a fast torrent as it has dedicated servers.
You do not need the whole download, or to keep it.
Just let it run for 15 minutes or so to get an idea of your download speed on your setup.

You can try enabling both DHT options at options>preferences>bittorrent but only on public sites and play with Global connections and max. connected seeds there; 250 - 300 seems good. Pick torrents with a high seed to peer ratio.

Wouldn't matter how many seeds if there are more total peers. Pause your other downloads and try the Slackware site above.

Those are pretty good speeds, but it would depend on your internet connection as to whether they are good.
What were your results on the speed test?
You should run the speed test and make adjustments before running the Slackware.

Based on that test, you're kind of in the middle. Set connection type to 256 kb (low side) and you could try 384 kb later but it's a bit on the high side but, then, your upload speeds in utorrent are showing 480 kb - 560 kb, that's why test at various times to get a good average. Those are decent speeds but I would expect the D/L speed to be around 450 - 500 kb at it's max.
