Problem getting online with EA NCAA Football 08

FYI, this is only the third game I have made a backup of (backup plays fine) and this was the first time I have ever gone online with my PS2.
Quick question, do I need to worry about them tracking a bad DNAS code back to me since I registered my PS2 online when setting it up?

To the problem I used DNAS code XX XX 01 30 EC

It seemed to get through the DNAS check fine (no screen pooped up saying bad code or anything). Then it said it was going on EA online or something rather, then it popped up unable to connect to EA online.

To double check I set up NHL2K8 (was original game and was able to get online fine with it (SK sports not EA though) so did I do something wrong?
