can someone help please

i just bought a LG GDR-8163B DVD-ROM it isnt reading any disc should it have come with driver or something ? how can i get it to work

i am using widows xp

windows uses it's own driver. does the bios see the drive? any exclamation marks in device manager? is it on same cable as another drive & if so what are they jumpered as as in master & slave or what?
