hi everyone,
i am looking to buy a new video card with multi-gpu.
I have an Intel P4 3.4Ghz with an Intel based mobo, i was wondering if Intel works any better with nVidia or ATI? or if it doesnt really matter.
thanks, any help would be appreciated.

Well, unless you own an SLI or Crossfire board, you'll be using a single graphics card. It doesn't really matter which brand you buy.
What's your budget?

well i have decided to invest in a new mobo as well, i was thinking the Gigabyte GA-8N-SLI Royal (Intel edition). and eventually i will be using SLI on this mobo, but currently i have an ATI X1300 PRO. will this graphics card be ok to use on this board temporarily?

Funny you say that, you can actually have a dual core GPU setup without needing SLI or CF. I was looking at a card the other day, HD2600HT DUAL which lets you CF the card with itself which is pretty cool.
PC Specs:
E6750 C2D @ 2.66GHZ 1333FSB
1GB Corsair Value Ram 667MHZ/Transcend 2GB 800MHZ
EAH4650 512 Onboard
2x 250G Seagate SATA

Yeah, but 2600s in crossfire? Just buy an HD3850.

Yeah true. I mean, the card looks like it peforms well when tested, but yeah as you said, its probably just easier to buy the HD3850.

It should be if the card is PCI-e, if thats what the new board accepts. If you have a SLI board, you dont need to use SLI for it to work, it will accept one graphics card.

That's right. ANY PCI Express 16x Graphics card will work in an SLI board, as long as you only use one of them.

I'm not sure. Possibly, but if you've bought a board that only supports up to 667 speed then it may not have very good overclocking features anyway.
