Hi all,

Apologies if that has already been answered; couldn't find an exact answer in the forums.

Some time ago I tried to rip subs with SubRip and add them to my .Avi of an Anime film. Only, when I played them back on my stand alone Divx player they were tiny and off to the left of the screen. But they're perfect in VLC. I've been too busy to figure it out for a while, but I need the space on my HD so could really do with a hand here.

So, does anybody know how to get these subs on the screen, in the centre and at a size that's readable without having my eyeballs pressed up against the screen?

Cheers,
Ex

P.S I've got 2 Divx players and it's the same on both: Cello Q808 and Liteon LVW 5115 GHC

Are these .srt subs in a separate file on the disk or are they hard subs, burned to the video?

They're .srt as I've got both English and Japanese audio, so don't want to hardsub in case I want to be lazy and use the English dub! Lol!

I've heard of long file names on the .srt file causing off centre subs, but I've never seen it.

Really? Oh, how odd! Is there a specific file length I should be avoiding?

For Anime episodes I would usually use the full episode name, which I guess would be quite long. That said, one of the episodes I tried I'd just named "01" for quickness, so possibly not that...

Thanks anyway, I'll keep that in mind.

Anyone else have any suggestions? I'd like to get this sorted ASAP so I don't have these files on my HD for another year! Lol.

ANY input gratefully received!
