Hi
I have had trouble burning NTSC Dawn of Mana to a DVD. I am using Maxell (RITEK-R03-02) 8x speed discs Disc's. I have tried burning using DVD Decryptre and 120% Alcohol at 4x and 8x speed. I have downloaded the file via mininova and extracted an ISO from the Rar.
I have a modified V4 PS2, unsure of which chip it is but I have many over DVD based back ups that have been created for it that work fine. I have followed the many other forum topics on here with regards to burning PS2 games, and followed them precisely.
I say trouble burning, but it?s more like trouble running it. The Playstation 2 logo shows up then goes off. The console sound like it is reading the disc but never gets anywhere, have left it up to 5 mins to see if anything happens, as I have also had trouble burning other PS2. One of them being Smackdown vs. Raw 2008. This game showed the loading bar in all cases and in other cases got as far as creating save data before freezing... But if anyone could help with Dawn of Mana it would be greatly appreciated.
Further to my above problem I decided that I would attempt to do the re-build which is explained here, just for the sake of it. Now then I burned this through DVD Decrypter at 8x speed, the process completed with an approximate speed of 2.3x even though the discs I use are 8x and my writer is 8x.
The game now works, but with slow loading times.
Looks like this could have been the media I was using. I want out and bougt from SonyDVD+R disc's, burnt the game, and it works flawlessly. Though according to the lists on this Forum, it does say Maxell are good. I guess it can be ultimatly down to trial and error!
Thank to any guides on this forum, as they have been great help!
