Hi, I just finally had a use to create a bootable cd/dvd. When I went into Nero Burning ROM and selected that option, it started to launch and then the program freezes. (not responding) I cannot even use windows task manager to close down Nero. I have to shut down the machine.
I had upgraded to version 7.10.1.2 recently. I uninstalled, ran Nero clean up, and then reinstalled. No luck. I uninstalled, and re-installed an older version, 7.8.5.0, no luck.
When I install, I install the following: Smart Start, Burning ROM, Vision, Cov Designer, Showtime, Recode, All Tools, All special Features.
I have two DVD burners, internal, one is a PATA, the other a SATA. Nero sees both of them and can bring up the specs on them.
I have installed the Lightscribe software on my machine as well.
I'm running Win XP with all updates, no Service Pack 3 yet though.
I'm getting tired of this software crashing my machine, and running an indexing service I asked NOT to install.
Any advice or help out there to get the bootable cd/dvd portion of Nero working? I'm looking to reformat my HD and reinstall the OS, and I want to make a bootable Win XP disk with SP3, this is getting in the way.
I swear that wasn't there at 2:40 in the morning, they just added the code for it!
Bump btw, anyone encounter this problem where the boot cd/dvd portion of burning rom doesn't load?
I just wanted to add that after 20 minutes, I was able to get to the file selection portion of the burn. Then when I hit burn, it locked up again, the whole not responding thing. This is just silly.
