I cant make a backup of my DVD "A Perfect Stranger".

- DVD Shrink wont open it;
- AnyDVD aborts after 20% and reports :"fileIO 3 VTS_01_2.VOB 22200320 473088;
- DVD Decrypter cant open the disc;

Any help or similar experiences from any one else please?

Is that a 2005/2006 release? If so, I don't think is an encryption problem, but rather a faulty disc. Can you return it and get a different copy?

yup you have a scratched/dirty/bad DVD get another copy of it to backup.

you could try using Intervideo DVD Copy6 to transcode it if its isn't scratched to badly

It doesn't really have to be scratched, it could just be a bad press.
DVD Decrypter is also pretty good at handling rough shape discs. If all those 3 progrmas chocked on it, 2 of them not just giving a read error, but totally refused to open it, I don't know how Inter would handle it. Plus, if it has any encryption( is not that old, was released in '05 or '06), I think Inter is more of a converter, don't think it can decrypt.

It definetely doesn't hurt to try, although AnyDvd failed to read it once.
Did you try to rip those scratched discs of yours just with AnyDVD, without InterVideoDVD?

Can even try IsoBuster with Anydvd.

i think he used anydvd as a ripper. using it behind DVD Copy6 would be a different process
