I've had my USB for about 6 months. Up until 1 month ago it worked fine. Then one day I plugged it into my computer but I couldn't open it. I tried on about 10 different computers and it's all the same.
It shows up in My Computer, it shows up in Safely Remove Hardware. But whenever I try to open it, or rightclicking and going Explore, Search, Format.... etc, a message pops up saying: "E:\ is not accessible. The device is not ready."
When I try searching or exploring the device it says: "Please insert removable drive"
The light on the USB flashes and all, I just don't understand why it suddenly stopped working. I would just get a new USB but there's data on it that I need.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Unfortunately it sounds like your drive is toast! It may have taken a electrical hit somewhere down the line. All I can suggest at this point in the digital age is make sure you have more than one copy of your info.

Remember no matter how much you know someone else knows more than you do!

That's a common problem with USB drives, and means they've reached the end of their life. If you didn't have that data backed up, it's lost.

Yep it's corrupted/fried/dead.

Maybe something broke inside due to mishandling or it was a very cheap, nasty USB drive; they don't last for more than a few months usually.
Even if the light flashes, that means it is getting power and it does connect properly but the actually Flash Memory inside could be damaged or corrupted and is thus, unreadable.

Thanks! From now on I'll definitely backup my info in at least two other places.
