Putting Emulators on a PS2 with a Hard Drive

Okay. I am waaaay behind on this stuff. I just figured out what to do with my extra 200GB hard drive. I put it in my kid's PS2 and bought HD Advace 3.0. Now she has all of her games backed up to the hard drive.
Can I load a NES or SNES or N64 or even GameCube Emulator onto this hard drive with ROMS stored in a folder or something and run them all straight from the hard drive? I'd love to get ahold of some old SNES or NES games for my 4 year old to play.
If this is possible, would tutorials for doing all of the above also be available?

you will have to partition the hdd, so you can have one section designated to emulators and roms. go HERE and scroll to the bottom for the partition tutorial.

go HERE and download the dms format tool elf.

you will have to find a way to launch the dms format elf. the easiest way is with action replay MAX, since it has a media player that can launch elf files.

okay. so basically, I am going to have to reformat the HD, erasing all the games? I'm ok with that as long as after I partition it, I am still able to reload HD Advance 3.0 and all of my kid's ps2 games onto it. So basically i will have two hard drives in one HD. One partition for ROMS AND EMS and the other with HD advance 3.0. Won't HD Advance try to reformat the HD once I re-install?

it shouldn't. with the format tool, you can keep all of the games intact, but create a partition without formatting the drives.

each game you have on the hdd is in a separate partition already. for example, if you have 15 games already, you will have 15 separate partitions. with the space that's still free, you can create a 16th partition for your emulator and roms, without erasing the first 15.


the only reason i can think of reformatting the drive is if the format tool cannot recognize your hdd. a full format is then needed.

You are the SHIZ!! So, to recap. I don't need to reformat the drive. I just need to pop it in my pc, and then run the ELF program. and it will partition a spot for roms and ems. Will the Ems be runnable from the hard drive of the PS2 or will I need to place a disc with the ELF prog...oh basically, is there a full on tutorial that just spells it all our for me in detail from start to finish? Did I mention you rock?
