What I want to know is could it very well be that the file you originally downloaded is an .ISO file itself, and you extracted it by mistake? Winrar can interpret ISO files as archived files too.
Ok I downloaded a game for the PS2 and it is a bin and cue file and I'm not sure how to burn this as an ISO using DVD Decrypter. I've ended up with 3 coasters and need help. Here are the exact files. Help please.
ptc-pdw08
BIN File 337,104 KB
ptc-pdw08.cue
CUE File 1 KB
Torrent downloaded from SpaTorrent.COM

Can someone send me in the right direction. I am using swapmagic for the burnt games and have no trouble burning ISO's just BIN/Cue files. Thanks

When you search for file to load, just click the bin file and it will load up in DVD Decrypter and then insert your CD, then click the Write button at bottom. You should have no problems, if you do upgrade your DVD Decrypter to Imgburn. It will just install over it.
I still burn my CD at 4X also.
I've done that and ended up with coasters. i've even tried to
convert the files back to ISO with power iso and they still dont play. It always says not valid PS2 disc.

Shouldnt be coasters, what type of CD media are you using +R or -R and what brand.
How is your PS2 modded?
To convert CD to DVD ISO, follow Hursty's method. I am just giving you a different link as this has the scanlite3.7 you will need.

I'm burning them to DVD-+R's. Waste of a disc for
a short game at 325mb. i've tried a CD-RW and a CD-R
but still get the same error using swap magic 3.6.
NOT A| VALID PS2 DISC. Why can't people upload ISO's
or just rar files on torrents. Still need help
Ok firstly you can't burn a bin file to DVD. You would have to rebuild it first to DVD as the guide says that I posted above.
Also CD-RW won't work in most cases and can put a terrible strain on your laser. Best to stick with CD-R.
Now secondly the backup you say above ptc-pdw08 is a PAL game. Is your PS2 PAL or NTSC. If its NTSC, then when loading your SM 3.6 CD you will probably need to select Video Mode and change it there.
I wouldn't waste any more CD's on this one. There does appear to be a problem with this release. I have checked a few sites, and people who can't get it too load.
Ok update:
I mounted the image with Daemon Tools. Extracted all with ISObuster 2.
Then I edited the system file with notepad to look like this:
BOOT2 = cdrom0:\SLES_549.92;1
VER = 1.00
VMODE = PAL I then opened Nero, chose UDF/ISO CD, and selected all files to compilation and burned it.
It works fine then with SM 3.8 coder. I need to patch the SLES file with the PAL/NTSC y-fix, offset 48, though as I have a NTSCPS2.
