I have a ps2, SCPH-50001, 3C model i would like to start playing back-ups and i've researched a little bit but kinda of need a little guidance on swapmagic 3.6 or 3.8 since i have an older ps2, what kind of media is best to use, i also have dvd decrypter, any help?
No i dont have anything yet.. i was thinking about buying the flip top and swap magic 3.6. since most games are dvd rom format i was thinking about getting Taiyo Yuden DVD+R to write on. i have an NEC burner for my dell laptop thats about 2 years old that write dvd +-RW. when i back up my movies i use hp dvd+r and they work great. I used DVD HD Decrypter and and CloneDVD2 for my movies. I would rather not use a mod chip but if i have to i will. does it matter if its dvd-or dvd+?
I don't know anything about swap magic, but my modded PS2 seems to at least run DVD+, which is what I mainly use... I'm pretty sure at least one or two of my collection of games is on a DVD- and works fine, as well.
When you do get started, I suggest burning at slowest possible speeds, it can make a big difference in some games, especially ones with plenty of cinematics.
my dvd burner is a NEC DVD +-RW ND-6605A. I'm just a little nervous about buying the DVD-R since i've never tryed to burn with them. Does anyone know which mod, other than a chip, would be least irritating? like i said i was thinking about the flip top since more people seem to like it better than the little slide tool. Any comments?
