Hi guys. I have a problem. I want to reroute the sound coming out from my speaker to the mic line. I'm not sure how to do this.. I've played round with the settings..

Default device: Sigma TelAudio

I clicked "Advaced" in Sounds and Audio Devices Properties, then go to Options and click properties. I clicked "Recording" and pressed OK. Then I clicked "Select" for the Line In. I thought this would work, but I get nothing.

Oh, back when I clicked "Recording", I only had three options: Line In, External Mic, Internal Mic. I don't think I need the last two because I don't want to have my internal mic or external mic on. I only want to reroute the sound coming from the speakers to the mic.

Thanks.

I'm not sure what you mean. You should just be able to plug your mic into the mic port on your computer.

Can you explain what you're trying to do better, rather than what steps you took? Are you trying to have your system play something through your speakers and have your mic record it after it has been made into sound waves bouncing around your room?

Or are you trying to capture the electronic output that a program produces and record it as mp3's or similar? There's several great programs for this, such as Tunebite, etc.

From your first attempt to explain this to us, there's even a chance you meant to say, "I want to use the mic connection as a speaker connect." Hopefully not, since this is almost entirely silly.

Again, if you're trying to 'capture' audio generated by your PC as a saved file, I recommend using any of the audio capture programs. They'll install drivers to redirect / record / convert etc. directly into the system, so you'll get none of the audio feedback, sneezes in the room, cracks pops and whistles, blah blah.

Try increasing the volume of 'Line In', set it 100% if you like.

For more options, while in the Recording window, in the toolbar, go to Options -> Properties. In the section that says 'Show the following volume controls', choose whatever you'd like to be displayed/active.
