Okay so I have been having a very weird issue with the sound on my desktop for a while now.
I have a creative sound blaster audigy sound card and have disabled the onboad sound from the motherboard.
When I am playing mp3 files or any files on my computer they play perfectly.
Now here is the weird part. Anytime I play videos off of youtube or anyother website for that matter I get weird static and feedback sounds coming from the speakers. I can still hear all of the video but i just also get weird crackily noises.
Also these noises will just happen randomly sometimes when surfing on the internet. For instance when clicking on links or going "back" and "forward" on webpages.
So it seems i only encounter issues to do with the internet.
I am using IE7 with all the latest updates. I have no tried using any other browsers.
I have also tryed reseating the sound card and reinstalling all of the sound drivers.

Do these anomalies occur with onboard sound? It sounds like certain types of sound are being corrupted. I've experienced this before, it's a failure of DSP. Technically it shouldn't happen with a different sound card, but I can't guarantee it.

What exactly is failure of DSP?
No I have not tried to test it with the onboard sound yet. I guess il try taking out the audigy and running the onboard sound later today to test it out.

So i took out the audigy and the integrated audio by realtek seems to be working fine.
Only problem is I dont get my full 5.1 with the integrated card.
I wonder if this means theres something wrong with my sound card.

Well, perhaps, but you should still get 5.1 with integrated sound, you won't with mp3s without special software, but films and games should still play back correctly in 5.1.

Well my speakers use 3 connections to plug into the sound card and with my integrated audio i can only plug one of them in so not all of my speakers work.
Iv tried to do some research on this and stil dont understand why everything works perfectly fine with mp3s and movies but if i try to watch something on youtube the sound gets all weird.
I really dont want to have to purchase a new sound card.

Er yes you can, you just have to use the back of the PC, not the connectors on the front. Every motherboard I've seen for the last three or four years has had at least three jacks on the back.
As for the sound card, if you've tried reinstalling the drivers to no end, try a different PCI slot, and if not, try the card in someone else's PC and see if the problem recurs. If it does, replace the sound card (you can get basic SB Audigy cards really cheap now). If it doesn't, I'm not sure where the problem's coming from unless you have some device conflicts.

mrman, i have the same card in my XP pc and no problems like your having. Have you messed with settings for the card yet? I couldn't tell you right off hand which ones, but their is alot to mess with.
Make sure your drivers for the card are up-to-date as well!

Hmmm well this is the board here http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=RS482M4-ILD
There are 3 conections on the back, the green one for speakers which is the one i am using. The other one is pink which is for a mic and a blue for line in.
I though i needed a black for rears and the brown for the sub.
Im not to familiar with the audio stuff so forgive me for sounding a bit clueless here.

Indeed, but using the Realtek software you can change the pink and blue ports to act like orange and black ports suitable for 5.1. You just won't be able to have a microphone attached while you're using surround sound.

Wow i never knew i could do that with the integrated card. I have it all hooked up through the integrated card(with 5.1 working) and it sounds perfectly fine to me :)
Another day when i have some spare time ill mess around with trying another pci slot but this seems to be working just as good right now and i never used any of the other jacks anyways.
