Ok here is the deal I recently purchased a new barebones system (gf7100pvt-m3 *Info posted*) - same internal plextor dvd-r drive.
I install windows aspi (habit) install nero premium 7. problem "coasters" 7 of my media (Tao Yuden, Memorex, & GQ)
I unistall 7 and go with the tried and tested 6.3.X.X that worked fine with my drive before.
Same problem. WTH is up please.

this is gonna sound crazy but i cant locate a log- it appears the program just crashes and doesnt generate one.
C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 7 has nothing no historylog no nero log nothing outside the install one

So, do you use a Plextor drive or a Memorex drive?!:

The Plextor drive should have the firmware updated also, but it seems it has no problems, the burn was successful.
The failed burn was with the Memorex drive. Find firmware for that one.

i win...ty guys everything works now
in addition to what you guys suggested i changed the way my bios recognizes the drive. i have no idea what ultra dma 2 is but i set it back to 1 and im burning now 100 % success rate.
