yea i have this security system and i'm trying to do a backup of a certain timeframe and it won't let me put it into a format like .mpg or .mp4 like the manual suggests. its a mace DVR-1600HP and it only saves the backups and downloads as .dav files. if anyone could help, that'd be great.

I have a CCTV DVR which saves in that format. It's linux system and you will need a special program. I can email it to you, it's not big. Let me know your email address.

This is a complex program which not only supplies a player for DAV but also converts them to AVI files if needed!
