I split a avi with virtualdub. The first file works fine, but the sound doesn't work on the second half, any suggestions?

If the sounds works fine on the entire movie to begin with, then I would suggest converting it to MPEG1 with TMPEGnc (FREE program) and then splitting it with the Mpeg tools file.
