Hello,
Two years ago folks on this forum were very helpful in helping this newbie get rid of the vundo virus that infected my PC. I was so thnakful for that. Since then my PC has been operating just fine until two weeks ago when I started getting the "IE cannot display the webpage" error message while on the Internet. This happens constantly. However, when I hit the Refresh button (sometimes several times), the webpage finally loads. This behavior also occurs when I click on a link on a website, as well as it occurs when using Firefox (only the error message states "Server not found." My son says it is my ISP, I'm thinking my PC is infected again. Who is correct? Below is my Hijackthis log

hi,
log looks ok as far as malware goes.
IE 7.0
From the tools menu > select Internet Options
select>general tab.
Under browsing history> click Delete
Next to "Temporary Internet Files", click Delete files... .
click close> then OK to exit.
firefox:
From the tools menu, select clear private Data, and then choose cache
see if that helps

Don't use IE but have had the "Server not found" thing with Firefox before when the programme is being blocked by a fire wall.
Something else for you to look at ;-)

Thank you both for your quick responses. I was under the weather last week so I couldn't respond right away. I have done everything as suggested with no improvement in the problem. I have deleted temp internet files and browsing history plus cleared Firefox etc.; I have tried disabling my firewall --I still get the error messages and the websites will not load unless I repeatedly hit the refresh button. Therefore, I have opened a ticket with my cable ISP; if they are unable/unwilling to fix this issue in a timely manner then I will check out our local dsl providers. Unless anyone has any other ideas?
Thanks again for everyone's assistance and advice,

to help rule out a browser problem or a possible network problem you can try this.
next time you get the page not loading, do this:
go to start run and type in the window cmd click ok
a window will open, at the prompt in the window type in:
ping www.yahoo.com
hit enter
a reply (actually a echoreply!)means you do have connectivity
and there must be something wrong with the browsers, though i find it hard to believe both IE and FFox are both having problems. if you dont get a reply with the ping command call your isp back, you have network problems.
