If you only have the VOB files, use DVD Flick to make a DVD-Video compilation.

I have a 1.8 processor speed computer, Windows XP pro, 1 gig RAM, have failed to save this 4.4 gig movie on my HD to a DVD using Shrink, FabHD Decrypter #4, & can't get any to work. VobBlanker won't recognize it.
Shrink says "failed to open the file" or if I try to drag one file at a time, "invalid filename".
I have Nero 6.0 suite, but have not tried it on this... Thanks

Why make a video compilation?

Use avidemux to join all the contained files together into one big file <title>.mpg, then use dvdflick to make and burn a dvd.. that way you can make a menu too if you wish. Just leave all the settings in avidemux to copy, and output format to mpg.

@varnull
Well, you said "then use dvdflick to make and burn a dvd", I said "use DVD Flick to make a DVD-Video compilation.". Without getting into too deep semantics, what is the big diference?:~)(I am just curious, as English is my second language!)
DVD Flick will take the VOBs without appending them first and make one movie, but I guess you get better VOB transition, less flickering if you join them first with Avidemux...an awesome tool...

I just finished with DVD flick. It says now: Finished successfully, with all tasks checked in gold.

avidemux didnt seem to help, but all I did was to "index" each VOB

What do I do now?

I had a blank DVD RW in the burner, but nothing happened.

Now you burn the Video_Ts folder or ISO file that DVD Flick created(depends on how you set up DVD Flick) . For that you can use ImgBurn or Nero Express/Nero Burning Rom.
Did you save as an ISO or a folder on your hard drive?
Avidemux indexed the VOB, then you have to choose "append" to join all the VOBs.

Neither ImgBurn nor Nero Express/Nero Burning Rom will recognize this "successful" result.

That is not the gibberish you need.
When DVD Flick is done, will make a folder, for example DVD_Video. Inside that folder, will be a bunch of files that you don't need-those are DVD Flick's logs, and it will be another folder named Video_TS which contains a set of VOB, BUP and IFO files. That is the folder that contains the files you need to burn.

Thank God you got it going:~)! I was gonna give it up!
No, you don't really need Avidemux. The reson why you would use it in this case is to join the VOBs before loading into DVD Flick. You will probably notice a 1/2 second flickering at the transition points between VOBs. If you use Avidemux, the transition could be smoother.
Many people however, dont' want to mess with another aplication.

And many people don't like the glitch either.. I won't put up with it 5 or 6 times in a good movie when I know I can join them seamlessly.

That's the difference cyprusrom between a dvd compliation and a dvd authored from only 1 file.. The compilation has 5 titles on it, even if there is no menu.. look at the resulting vobs, you may have a lot more than you started with. lol::

I was going to suggest ifoedit, but that's way above the heads of the newbies.. anybody even knowing about that wouldn't need to ask how to deal with vobs eh?

:~) Thanks, I don't like the flickering either, and if my movie comes in parts, I have to join them first before conversion!

Well, it will have 5 titles on it if you choose so, otherwise it will have one title, with 5 different video sources.

And the compilation business... your "DVD" will be a compilation, same as my "DVD Video compilation". It will be comprised of VOB, IFO and BUP files. When I said "DVD compilation", I wasn't talking about the input. The input would be at most a "VOB compilation". Unless you can have at the end of the conversion a DVD Video with just one big VOB,and nothing else, playing on a stand alone player, then you have a compilation, of VOBs, IFOs and BUPs.

As you can see, some people have a hard time just with the simple task of burning a video_TS folder. If we mix in another application, step, like appending/editing and such(or using IFoEdit), that really puts them in the dark!! They did try Avidemux, and got stuck at the indexing step.
