hi all

since softmodding my xbox ive tinkered and played
around and on the whole im very happy, i even got
xbconnect working to go online with Halo 2. any
way now i have more of an idea of what i want to do.
so i know folder C and Folder E should be left. the
folders i have are C,D,E,F,G,X,Y,Z. all the apps ive
put on so far are in E there are bits and pieces in
Z mostly folders that are empty only the HTTPcache
folder has content.X has a couple of cache.map files
a preferences.DAT file and a fonts folder. X has an
sgf folder several cache.map files and 2 savegame.
bin's. G and F are empty. im happy if gamesaves vanish
doing this all i want to do is clean out the apps and
start putting the ones i want back in. really i spose
im just tidying the layout. any hints and nudges in the
right and safest direction would be appreciated.

Do not delete the XYZ partitions.. they are vital for the operation of the xbox. All the stuff in them is "volatile" data, which means it is temp maps, and odd savepoints and such along with config data for certain games. Ignore them.. nothing in there has any effect, but deleting anything could have unexpected and radical effects on recently played games..

There is an old but true rule about the xbox filesystem.. If you don't know what it does LEAVE IT ALONE

The same goes for the tdata and udata folders.. The safe way to delete gamesaves and not have the possibility of screwing up a softmod is to delete the saves from the M$ dash.

hi there

ok i'll avoid doing that then lol.
ive just d/l AID 4.13 and prepared
a new disk with all the updates,
can i just, for instance, install
XBMC again and it will over right
the existing to bring it up to date?
im saving up for a new HD and im going
to use chimp to do the deed, i assume
that as im copying a softmodded HD that
the end result will merely mean my softmod
will still run but on the big drive and i
just need to format the required new area
to have max use of the space available.

i did see on the AID disk there is
an uninstall feature. looks like you
select the E F G H folder where you
installed say mimesis so select
uninstall E and you get a list of
the progs again, safe?
