I am trying to make a back-up of the new DVD release "The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters". CloneDVD 2 failed. So did DVDShrink. I opened the disc and noticed that it had some interactive content (stuff with names like, IAPlayer.dmg, AUTORUN, ialaunch, install, autorun.mcl, disc.id, ect.) that I figure was causing CloneDVD2 to crap out.
So, I decided to apply some of the new knowledge from the "Green Chair" thread. I installed DVDRebuilder and:
1. With AnyDVD running in the background I copied the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS from the disc to the hard drive.
2. I put these into DVDRebuilder and let it work. About 18 hours later, it gives me; "ERROR.File.Video_TS.VOB is not correctly sized on sector boundary. ABORTING." (This follows what I call 'Randy's Rule' - The longer a process takes, the better the chance it will crap out at the last minute.)
3. Thinking it might be worth a shot, I went to the DVDRebuilder output folder I had created and dragged the AUDIO_TS and the VIDEO_TS folders into Nero. Nero said; "DVD Video files compliance test failed. The resulting DVD-Video might be unplayable. Do you want to continue?" Since I had never had a playable DVD result with that error message I quit.
I always use DvdFabPlatinum and never had a problem with anything i copied, dvd shrink is getting somewhat old and outdated now since there hasnt been anyupdates for the programme for a few years now...Dvd fab Platinum is the go.
