Hey guys, I am having strange problems. It seems that I can sometimes make a copy from a backup that's on a DVD-R but most of the time not.
When I backup to DVD+R's I really don't have any problems. Is it th media, or the program I am using? I have been told from many people that whether it's a -R or a +R there should be no problem making copies from it.
your program, type of blank media and burn speed is what counts
Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim media is your best choice burning between 4x and 8x max is best. also burn from an iso image from the HDD is better than burning on the fly
We need to know the exact issue, programs used, burner model#, current firmware version, and the MID codes of your media.
1) Is it a No disc error-in which your drive won't recognize your dash backups, therefore you can't re-rip them? This would make it a compatability issue.
2)Or is the dash backup recognized by drive, and you get a crc error during the ripping? This would be major, and you have many small errors on your dash backups.
3) Are you using sticker labels?
Not sure what you are using, but here's a free program that'll give you the drive and firmware info. It'll also tell you what the MID codes are from your Plus and Dash backups,so let us know all that info.
Ok, to answer your questions, my drive doesn't recognize a DVD-R copy. You mentioned that is acompatability issue. What information do you need exactly to answer why this is happening to me?
Here are answers to the questions you asked already:
1-I use 2 different kinds of +R and -R media, but right now, I have phillips DVD+R 16x lightscribe.
