Dynex,Magnavox,Maxell are all on sale, UGGH! Yes indeed Bigtoxy69,it's a horrible week for media.
The only thing remotely worth buying is the Staple's 100 pk of memorex +16x, for $24,if they are still made by ricoh.

ZoSoIV- Thanx I new about that already ! Still going through my last batch of Taiyo Yudens Value line's I bought Like two xmas'es ago ! Although This sale is a better deal then I got then Price wise ! I was kinda looking to pickup a spindle or two of Sony's verbatims or Officedepots depending on price ! I almost Picked up two ten packs of MIJ sony DVD+R @ Big lots saturday They are closing out a drugstores merchandise and the sony's were among that merchandise ! 20% off if it has a pink Tag ! They did have the pink tags and it looked like the price was $2.99 per 10pk{Jewel cases } so I grabbed both packs ! Unfortunately at the register the price rang up as $12.99 - the20% discount each ! The price tags were printed poorly ! and as Highly as I think of MIJ Sony's/taiyo Yudens $10.40 cents per ten is a little steep for single layer media even Taiyo yudens so I left them behind at biglots for the next customer to buy !!!!!!!!!!Like I told Saugmon I'll wait Bestbuy's gotta put some decent { verbatims or Sony's } media on sale sooon or Maybe I'll go buy some Movies or a box set or two ? anyways Thanx for replying anyways Cheers Ciao!!!!!& happy Burning!!!!!!!!

OD Has Maxell 100's for $17.99 on Sunday and Monday only. This makes it $15 if you bring in a used ink cartridge.
I recall people saying Maxells were pretty good. Not anymore?. I often got confused between Maxell and Memorex until I remembered the name Memosux, but now it sounds like some of the Memorex is decent media, but it still seems like it may be iffy.

When the 16x media came out, Maxell and Memorex switched identities!!!!
Cmags are Maxell's main manufacturer of their 16x media. You'll notice how the spindles are more tapered than the older spindles.
Now the +16x memosux have coded as Ricohjpn-R03-004 for over a year now. 25 cents each is too much for them. You can get the Office Depot 16x media made by Ritek and Ricoh for under 20 cents each.

Look for MKM & PT for older Ritek & Prodisc Mexell 16x media. If you don't see it in -R then try -R & vice versa.

Well, before I was able to read the replies, I had to go run my errands and Monday was the last day of the sale so I had to either pull the trigger or pass. I saw DVD+R's with no code, DVD-R's with no code, CMC code and MDM code, all were MIT's.
I didn't know what the Ricoh code was (maybe the no code). I knew what CMC meant and I believe MDM means Ritek so I bought a pack of 100 MDM DVD-R's. At $0.16 each out the door, at least they will be fine for the kid's shows, time shifting or airsoft targets.
Yes the OD DVD+R I've been buying in the past year have coded out as Ricohjpn R03 and have been almost as cheap as these ($20/100 or $17/100 with an ink cartrige)

MDM's are Ritek. I've used them for data, movie conversions (with convertx2dvd) & recordings on my DVD recorder thats hooked up to the cable DVR & they all tested out fine with DVD InfoPro. And the Prodisc media seems to be ok too. If OD ever puts Maxell on sale again I'll look for any MDM or PT packs on the shelf but not CMC.

I'm still using my last 100 16x Verbs from the Microcenter sale last month. No local sales that I knew about so I went to Meritline & picked up 400 8x TY silver inkjet printables which will last me awhile. They will get delivered in a few days. Meanwhile I'll keep checking the forum for sales as I run low again in a few months.
