I need some help-what is some good free software for virus. I got a virus on my pc a week ago and got it off, but i would like to put some
software on my pc that will stop the virus be for it get on my pc. Can
you guys help me out.

Since you already been compromised once, my advice is to get the free virtual program "returnil" and engage that program everytime you go on the internet. The program will seperate your hard drive from the internet, any virus that you get will only exist in the system memory when you reboot it's gone.
If you don't want to put the entire computer in virtual mode with returnil, theres the free "sandboxie", it's a little hardder to use, but this program will only run your browser in virtual mode.
The virtual programs are the way to go, I have returnil installed on 4 different computers with no crashes or slowdowns encountered. There is no perfect antivirus program that will stop every virus, but if your surfing in virtual mode any virus you download will only do damage to the virtual computer leaving your hard drive intact.
this is a typical good setup
1. firewall (any free one do)
2. antivirus (any free one will do a basic job)
3. firefox 2.0 browser (not hardwired to registry like internet explorer).
4. returnil (last line of defense, very solid program which won't slowdown your computer.)
