I took the solder pads when attempting to solder my wiikey so I had to solder directly to the ic leg. In the process of repeatedly trying to connect a wire to the ic leg, the bottom part of the ic broke off. I soldered it to the head of the ic and tested to see if the modchip worked, but it doesn't. Here's what I'm wondering:
1. When testing for continuity to the two ic legs next to the one that was soldered, they were getting a very high resistance rating, one of 1400 and the other 750 ohms. There most definetely was not a bridge between these legs. Any idea what could've happened?
2. The modchip may have died. I don't know how or how often this happens, but is there any possibility that the modchip has been overheated?
3. How can I tell if my D2B chip has the cut ic legs or not? If they are not cut, can i still use the model b wlip which says its used for the cut chip?
Thanks for any help
