Does the infectus programmer require soldering?

I was reading over the Infectus Programmer at http://www.infectus.biz/argon.php, where I noticed that it mentioned something about soldering. Here is the original quote:

(pls. note that with infectus2 the JTAG connection need to be done with 4 soldering points)

Does this mean if I'm going to make updates to the Argon chip that I will have to solder this thing in with it to make the updates work. I'm just wondring, becasue from what I can see, this looks like a pretty big board, and I have questions about it fitting in or not. Wouldn't it be better just to use injectus? It's $40 cheaper, plus since I'm only chipping the Wii, Argon is the only thing that needs updated. Let's not forget of course that the Argon can succefully play imports now thanks to the additonal three wires soldered on to it.
