Hey,

I have a friend in the US on Sprint, and I'm in the UK on Vodafone. We text ALOT, but it costs us both an awful lot of money. She's started to use an SMS gateway that will save her a little bit of money, and I'm thinking about using the same.

However, is there a best solution in this situation? We both want to be able to send and receive sms on our phones for as cheap as possible. She gets free email, but I don't so email isn't an option.

In the UK there's a service called tex2 that would be ideal if you could get it in the US too, but I don't think that's possible.

So, any solutions? Good 2 way SMS gateways that allow you to send and receive? A java app that you can send email over the internet with?
