I agree - "Daxter" is a great adventure full stop (kids will find it quite enjoyable too). "The Simpsons" game might be of interest to many as well.
edit: oh, it's spelt 'Ratchet & Crank'.

Golden Compass is pretty horrible, might be okay if the kids really enjoyed the movie... I think you could spend your time and hard earned money (or downloads) on something better.
