I am making a backup copy of my Tru Calling 6 disc set, and aside from disc one and two, I am having the same problem with every disc. One and two went fine with CloneDVD, 3,4, and 5 all died part way through, so I tried DVDDecrypter, and on each one there is one file that just stops and throws an error, on disc 3 and 4, I was able to keep hitting retry and it would go a little farther and stop again, took 24 hours a disc. Disc 5 however has one file that stops at 77% and won't budge from there. Anyone else have this problem or have any ideas how i can fix this? Thanks

Well, DVDFab isn't real helpful with errors, it just says Read Error. I can't imagine this is a protection issue, This is by no means a new disc, this dvd is 3 years old, and the other 5 in the set went through. 2 of them fought me a little, but finally went through. disc 5 is the only one that would not go at all. I'm going to try finding another copy of disc 5, maybe there is something wrong with that disc. Meanwhile, I tried The Game Plan over the weekend, and also got a read error.

Hmmm.
Gameplan was a breeze too. Perhaps you need to clean your drive.

i would think if it was the drive though it would do it in random places, but DVD decrypter, Clove DVD, DVDShrink, and DVD Fab, I tried them all and they all stopped in the exact same spot

Try Cleaning the Disc. It May be Scratched.
Cleaning your Drive Is A Real Good Idea.
Have you tried To Back-up any other Movies??
Other than Game Plan.

I entertained that idea until he/she mentioned Gameplan...two movies same problem. *shrugs*
I still think cleaning the drive may be a help.
I know bad presses are more common of late. It's possible.

most of the problems I have seem to be related to tv series on dvd. now I have run into the same problem on dawson's creek, and I cleaned the drive. I even got vobblanker, it crashed in the same spot the others all stopped. This is like 7 or 8 discs now

Did you solve this problem? If so how did you do it? You could help someone else with the same problem.
What is the mfg. of your burner?
How old is it?
Is the firmware up-to-date?
How much memory do you have?
Can you Post A Log?

Burner is HL-DT-ST GWA4164B, firmware is up to date, it is a year and a half old. 1 gig memory. No problems burning until i tried to do a tv series. don't know how to post a log, but it always goes nuts on the very last ifo and bup on the disc. RipIt4Me didn't work either. My solution is I gave up. At a certain point my time becomes worth alot more than trying to backup a disc, and since this has successfully irritated the hell out of me, I'm done with it.
